Following the acquisition of MapInfo by Pitney Bowes, the organization was taking steps to combine MapInfo and Group 1 Software into the new Pitney Bowes Software. Part of this effort including launching international sites for the former MapInfo. However, prior to the acquisition, MapInfo had hired a third-party firm to design the look–and–feel of these international sites.
Unfortunately, the markup and CSS this firm put together was sub-par to say the least. So, I was tasked with crafting the semantic XHTML and CSS for the international sites based on the third-party designs.
The subsequent templates I created are being used for each of the international sites. And, since each international site has unique requirements, I'm creating new templates on an ad hoc basis.
As the re-branding/branding of the new Pitney Bowes Software moves forward during 2008, there may be subsequent changes to these templates to reflect the new brand.
XHTML
Created valid and semantic XHTML structure for templates.
CSS
Created valid and semantic CSS for XHTML templates, including styles for print views.
Backend CMS
As part of development team, created custom CMS in ExpressionEngine using Multi-Site Manager.
